Cannot tell from here if any shed skin remains...need to view super-close for that, and your BP might lose the very tip, even with vet help, but here's to
hoping you caught it in time? I could be wrong, but I think the redness is from the old (stuck) shed skin coming off this time around, as when it stays on
you typically don't see the redness at all (that's the blood supply and it's cut off by the constriction of the stuck-on shed). Now it's inflamed because the
circulation is suddenly there again...sure hope it can heal & maybe the vet can help ensure that it does. The tail tip of a snake is a bit like our feet are to
us: the slowest to heal because the furthest from heart (poorest blood circulation). That's why it doesn't take much to cut off the blood supply to the tail
tip when several sheds are left, stuck-on...they cut off what little blood supply there is.
Thanks for reply, this is his first shed with me, ive only had him for 2 months.

Thanks for that, i don't feel so guilty now for not noticing it when i bought him, it is his first shed with me and im on top of it, i have 5 other ball pythons that ive had for over a year and no such problems. It doesnt help when people commenting without reading through the coments saying its my fault because my humidity is wrong which it isnt.
    Thanks mate.

I didn't see the other thread either (fyi), I guess these were merged. Anyway, this was a slow problem in the making, it didn't start with you, & having had this experience now, I bet you'll be paying closer attention from now on. It's VERY easy to miss on pale snakes. It's not about blame, it's about fixing whatever is wrong.

Exactly, and im on it on day one, with a vet check on day 2 as that was the first appointment i could get. I love my snakes and do my hardest to give them the best of care i can, ive only had snakes just over a year and i know im still a beginner but im doing my best and my other snakes are doing great.

    Update after vet check

Hi guys, took my snake to the vet today and she basically said the reason why it is coming out with the red rings is because as you guys have said she has not been shedding properly with previous owner and because my husbandry is correct she is now shedding properly which is allowing blood flow to the tail, so basically i am to carry on with what im doing and see how it looks on the next shed, worse case he may need the very end cut off but she thinks it may be ok now she is in the correct environment.
He was in a vivarium with previous owner so probably very dry.
    Anyway positive outcome sounds like.
Thanks for your help and i will let you know how he looks after next shed.
    Cheers.

Understood but the people here are going to "assume", and I mean only because they are so passionate, that it would be something we did not catch, weather we are a regular member with 1- 2 snakes or a super monitor that has been doing this for decades.. if you can take the emotions out of their concerns you’ll see it is in the best interest of your animal, the internet does not have all the answers and when you run across them, it is sometimes from a book... here you got actual experience and educated people who can offer sound advice and HELP when you post your concerns.

I dislike negative criticism as much as the next, but it is what you have to deal with when discussing topics that people are fervent about lol... trust, I dread having to post another … "can someone help me!" post...
But for my babies... No vet visit, or members criticism will stop me from trying to help my beauties.. Even if someone is telling me something I am already aware of like humidity or temps... But sometimes we do over look things ... something as simple as record keep from now on with him as you move forward with recovery, I do hope all goes well and he makes a full recovery.. Thanks again for the post.. Its threads like this that will help someone else one day and maybe you can help them out with your success
