What's going on with my baby's eye?

I highly doubt this is stuck shed. He is a very shy snake and pulled backwards from between my fingers, then I noticed this:

Re: What's going on with my baby's eye?

It could be some sort of problem with his eye or its a stuck eye cap trying to come off. It may not be highly recommended but maybe try to carefully take it off with some dull tweezers or it might come off on its own. If its not a stuck cap you could either keep an eye on it maybe it resolves it self or just go to a vet.

Re: What's going on with my baby's eye?

Like I said, I highly doubt it is a stuck eye cap/shed. I've seen plenty of those. This wasnt there one second, then after he pulled through my fingers, it was. It almost looks like some sort of membrane.

I suppose just keep an eye on her for a day or so. Check up on her and see if its still there. Did she just shed?

Re: What's going on with my baby's eye?

i think it's the connective tissue to the eye; just a part of the eye you're seeing that you normally don't. DO NOT try to pick at it.

since he was stressed he was probably trying very hard to find a way to avoid you. im sure the eye is okay, but just keep an eye on it and vet if the issue doesn't correct itself. ive seen many threads like this over the years but your photo def. stands out to me.

you can see examples of this in my snakes below (zooming in helps) tho they're not as extreme as your photo:

EDIT: also interesting to note that in most of these photos, their tongues are out and i know they were stressed with me messing with them for photos. they're all looking around and trying to find an escape route. idk just my $0.02

Please, never use tweezers to try to grab a stuck eye-cap on any snake, no matter how cooperative. If they jerk, you can do major damage.
The eye appears to be stuck forward-looking in odd position...try misting for better hydration? Wait a while & see if that helps?

If it still seems to be a stuck eye-cap, there's better methods...just holler.

Re: What's going on with my baby's eye?

It's just the peice of skin that connects the spectacle to the rest of the snakes skin - sometimes it gets pulled out during shedding. If it was a retained eyecap it would be ripped and ragged - since it isn't just leave it alone.

That's NOT stuck shed!! Please do NOT try to remove it!

It's just connective tissue. That can happen if they bump their head or try to squeeze somewhere too narrow.

It will fix itself within a few days most likely.

Re: What's going on with my baby's eye?

I had a noodle i bought arrive with a very similar looking eye thingy. I also thought it was a stuck eye cap.
She was in blue so i figured the next shed would fix it. The breeder said that it wasnt there the day before. So i suspected maybe she got dried out a bit from shipping.
Kept her humid and let her be and it went away. She shed a couple days later so I'm not sure what made it go away. Since then things have been fine.
