All types of materials.
I got mine from Ed Lilley at Constrictors NW. He also made my Proline cage. It was a package deal.

No PVC.
It’s a wood dowel in front wrapper in fake vines. A real tree that had fallen and a big wood fence post wrapped in twine.
I used V brackets to mount them.
You can see them in the pictures of the light tape.
Home Depot is where I bought them.
I believe JM has similar mounts and also uses fence posts.

i think lighting depends on enclosures.
for a terrarium/vivarium, ReptiSun LED UVB by ZooMed, look and function the best. they're sleek, modular, provide white, red and blue lights and UVB. i'm getting the LED only model for a setup i'm putting together. they look better than dome lights and hoods.
i'm sure ReptiSuns can be adapted for PVC enclosures as well - but yeah, i agree that LED strips are the easiest and most economical to setup. also most come w/ a remote control, they're RGB color adjustable and they're dimmable. (plus u can make the lights strobe or flash which looks cool but would annoy/stress any animal i'm sure.)

What would you recommend for a ExoTera....I really don’t like the fact that my pathos die cause they get no lighting in the enclosures lol

i would use a Dremel to remove those crossbars on the Exo-Terra screen tops and use ReptiSuns... but if u don't wanna do that, put Jungle Dawn or Pangea LED's in your Exo-Terra hood. and if u wanna add a lil color, use an RGB light bar. those are meant for aquarium and water proof but u can re-purpose them. they're basically RBG LED strips put in a waterproof bar.

I guess after I read Ax01's comment which makes perfect sense I'll ask.
What are you housing, what type of cage do you have and do you need UV light or light for heat?
If you are using a plastic cage and housing a snake, I recommend what I have in the previous posts but if you have other requirements, by all means look at other options.

I am looking to the future and planning to get an animal plastics t8 once my girl is a little bigger. These LEDs look like a great option, but if they are 16 ft long, what do you do with the extra?

Just cut it off. They’re marked along the strip where to cut. Simple pair of scissors does the trick
