Oh wow, this sound so awful and heartbreaking. I have no personal experience with this either, I'm sorry. Have you reached out to her breeder? Perhaps this is something they've seen in their line?
All I can say is watch her closely, if her quality of life is a struggle then I would heed the vet's advice and have her euthanized.
