Yeah, a retic is no joke. Not to say any animal is, but you get my point.
Lots of options in between BP and retic if you're into something with more size than a BP. If you're looking more girth and a strong animal, Borneo or Sumatran STP or blood pythons are awesome animals. If you're more about length a carpet python or a boa might make a nice addition.
Anyway, enjoy your new BP. No need to rush into your next one. Stick around here and learn all you can. You'll also see about a million and a half species to add to your "wishlist"...
P.S. I'm also a huge advocate for Kingsnakes, my personal favorite species I've kept.

The hardest part about this hobby, for me anyway, is knowing and sticking to my limitations. I simply can't afford to add much more financially right now. I'm trying to upgrade enclosures, plus I keep some money stored away for an emergency vet visit. More snakes equals more food, more potential vet bills, more equipment. So I have to choose carefully when I make my next few additions. My max I think will be 8, so I'm half way there now. My wishlist has way more than 4 on it!!!! Maybe I should bump my cap to 10, hahahaha.

Understandable, I know not to stretch my finances thin. But a wish list never hurts and I think I’m a bad influence because now your wanting to add more lol

I hate to say this, but wish lists never end, because there's always new & very appealing snakes that turn up, especially online (& who isn't online?).
But keep reminding yourself that more snakes = more cages to clean...and trust me, there IS such a thing as too many. Also, if you have too many,
you end up not having enough time to REALLY enjoy them...and some even admit to feeling guilty for not taking their snakes out more.
Finances are another limiting factor, & for all that convince themselves that the next snake(s) is/are a great "investment" that will repay itself in time
by breeding, remember there's no guarantee, and living creatures can & do get sick or injured, or just fail to reproduce. Or someone beats you to it,
putting rare ones on the market.
I used to say "what's one more?" Eventually we all get the answer, lol.
