Honestly, most humans worry me far more than any reptile as far as diseases go. The only disease that reptiles carry that humans really need to worry about is salmonella, and you are more likely to get that from a supermarket chicken than you are from most reptiles.
I think as long as proper handwashing protocols are followed you have nothing to worry about.
