Small Shedding Question

Hi all, my baby BP just had his first shed (yay!), and it seemed to be a "bad shed". I don't think it was stuck, it just didn't come off all in one piece, though he seemed to get most of it off pretty easily.
My concern is that he still has a patch of unshed skin around his 'neck', just below his head, which is about two inches long. The top has come off, but the sides and bottom are still to be shed. He's been in shed for about three days, and I wanted to try to feed him after that... Should I try soaking him? Or just wait it out? I'm nervous to soak him because I don't want to induce stress.

Humidity has been around 60-80%, but I think the shed was bad because I've been experimenting with ways to keep humidity up and that may have caused fluctuation.

Definitely something was off, it’s only a good shed when it comes in one piece. You can try soaking him in a half inch or so of 80, 82 degree water for about 35 minutes and then let him crawl thru a wet towel in your hands, that should help get off the rest. And double check your husbandry cause something is off. Hope this helped.

Thank you! This was his first shed since I've had him, and my humidity was definitely off in the beginning because I was keeping it at just around 55. I've bumped it up to 60-80% regularly so hopefully that'll make his next shed easy

Some won't approve the soaking but I DO !

As above and use a ROUGH textured towel and when it slithers through your hands apply very gentle pressure on the stubborn areas of shed . When it's head pops out of the towel just cover it up again and continue . The skin will simply come off on the towel .

Next time as when it's been in shed a few days look out for the eyes clearing and colour returning then start spraying / misting the viv three times daily - a few days later you will find a messy , rolled up shedded skin under one of the hides

Our first shed with Lucy was not a good one and she had a stuck bit similar in location to yours. Soaking and gentle rubbing was hard because she just didn't like having that area submerged or touched!

In the end all she needed was humidity and a rough surface. I added a half log hide between her regular hides and within a day she had it off herself.
