I agree that these might not be ideal hides in an open display cage. However, i keep mine in dark enclosed racks, which many keepers dont provide hides at all. Mine still love their hides in the rack tubs, so i provide them. These round ones look cool and easy to clean.
i like to think of them as big hermit crabs. That change their shells as they grow!
