The only doors I dislike are the plastic sliding doors for large snakes. I’ve had two different snakes bow them out and escape and one totally blew the doors and tracks out.
Cleaning is easier with the swing out and drop down. But overall, I like the nice solid beefy feeling of glass sliding doors which make them my preference.
Yeah the swing out and drop down give you full access, I agree there. Sliding only half at once.
I agree on the weight of glass. Question, my Hog tends to be quite nippy during feeding, she has certainly struck glass at times. No concern on your end with yours striking glass vs plastic?

Maybe he wants a cage before his snake dies of old age?

That’s how I got talked into sliding plastic doors on my first PVC cages. Besides, as hard as my Boas hit, I don’t that there is much potential difference in harming the snake.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Absolutely blows my mind that NONE of the current plastic cage manufacturers can get their lead time down to days or maybe a couple weeks instead of literal months. Is the cage biz that booming?

Yep. Booming. Animal plastics is one or two people I believe.

A lot of the cage makers do this as a side biz, not main source of income. Many are tradesman, such as carpenters, shelf builders and some are critter owners too.
