How often do you guys weigh your BPs?
While tracking little Paarthurnax's growth (currently 150g today before feeding!) I've been weighing him about every week, before he is fed. In the back of my mind though, this seems a bit much. I was curious, how often do most keepers check the weight of their pythons?

When I weigh them, I weigh them after they poop. But I don't weigh every snake every time it poops.

I hardly weigh my babies anymore, lol... Cinnamon gets weighed pretty much every week becuase he hasn't eaten in a few months to monitor his weight, and I weigh the little one Orion every other week to check his growth but apart from that I just let them be I used to weigh Wanda nearly every other day when I first got her though!

I used to every 2 weeks before feeding. Now just once a month now. She's only 6 months old and probably around 350g right now.

The majority I never weigh, the only exception are picture update of certain morph at a certain stage (usually very high end combos that are not seen often), or customer request on available animals, other then that I do not really weigh anything.

I weigh all my animals about once a month. I think it's a good habit to get into. This way, you can potentially notice things that might be worrisome that you might not otherwise notice.
Also, with BP's, they often fast (especially in the winter). Shayna, my BP, fasts like clockwork for about 5 months in the winter. I weigh her to make sure she is not losing too much weight and that it's just her fasting and laying low in the winter.

When I first started keeping ball pythons I used to track everything, weights, feeding, sheds, etc... But after awhile I found that I never used any of that info for anything. If they don't eat there's not much you can do to correct the situation. Now I don't record anything LOL. But I do use magnetic tape on the front of each rack above each tub, I put down the morph, the year they were born, I print it out with a label maker. And I leave an open spot on that label for the weight of the snake. I only weight about every 3-6 months or so. And the only reason I have the weights readily available is so that I can feed the appropriate rodent size (or determine if a female is of breeding weight). Recently I've also been putting a separate sticker of the date of ovulation and date eggs were laid and peel them off after breeding season is over. I also have separate magnets with labels that say 'Off Feed', or 'In Shed'. For my snakes in shed I bump up the humidity every day and if they are gravid and off feed I know not to even feed them until they lay eggs. Everything is right on the front of each tub, I can see it all from six feet away and I know what is going on with all my females at a glance. I don't record anything down in log books anymore.

Re: How often do you guys weigh your BPs?
I weigh mine every time he sheds *if* he's also taken a big poo during the shed. Which he usually does either during or within a few days of shedding. I consider it his "empty" weight. I also record it in his notebook.
I keep track of everything, literally everything. weekly temp/humidity recording, prey weight/gender/if eaten, dates fed, dates shed, notations for when I clean up urates and poos as well as general notes on things I change in the enclosure, behavioral notes, etc
comes from being a vet tech and keeping medical flow sheets, but at least I have a very complete history if anything ever comes up lol. I imagine those of you with lots of snakes would not have the time without hiring a secretary
No cage is too large - nature is the best template - a snoot can't be booped too much
