Not a good eater
I’ve had my adult male ball python for almost 3 years now and he will go months without eating. He will eat super well for a while and then just stop. The longest he’s gone without eating was 4 months. He has only lost maybe 100 grams during that time so I haven’t worried to much. He’s going to reach the 4 month mark soon and this is the first time he’s in shed without eating for so long. Is it normal for them to shed even without eating for a long duration of time?

Yes they can continue to grow and will shed even without eating regularly.
It's normal for an adult male ball python to eat intermittently and completely stop over the winter. I have two males that last ate last Halloween, and one finally broke his fast last weekend.
When your male is eating put him on a two or three week schedule. He's not growing fast more so he won't need to eat as often as a baby or juvenile.
