fun fact: there is almost no nutritional difference between rats and mice! some people might say mice have more fat, or rats have more protein, but the reality of it is: we actually don't know which is better for the snake! there have been no studies on captive python dietary recommendations, so we can only guess.

rats are preferred because they're bigger, and it's cheaper to feed one appropriately-sized rat than multiple mice. it's also less taxing on the snake's body to digest only one thing.

congrats on getting her to eat!!! once she's looking healthy, you can try and make the switch. tho don't derail her current progress until she's heavy enough to miss some meals.
