Almost made it through the winter...

Well, we almost made it through the winter without any power outages.

That is, until now. This storm dropped a decent amount of heavy snow on us, knocking out power around 2am. Estimated restoration time = 11:45 pm.

    This stinks....

Thanks! The snakes are all bagged up in totes staying warm at Dad's house. The ferrets and cat will be fine. I'm worried about the fish though.

Well, could've been a LOT worse.

Power has been restored, snakes are all going back in their enclosures soon, temps just need to come up still.

Unfortunately, three fish didn't make it. Both Silver Dollars and the Bala are in fishy heaven. Had the Bala over 2 years, he was about 10" long. The Silver Dollars were with us for over a year and a half. We got them all as babies. Losing pets always sucks, but I'm trying to remind myself it could have been worse. Sadly, there's over a foot of snow outside, so they're going in the freezer til I can get a shovel in the ground for a proper burial.

R.I.P. fishy friends. Gone but not forgotten.
