LOL! I should list it for $666.00...
I tracked the company down and I was going to call them, but as it turns out, they are based in China (go figure...). So, I sent them the following email:
Hopefully I will hear back from them...Hello,
Quite a few years ago I purchased one of your DT-8810 infrared Thermometers. Over the past few months when I squeeze the trigger to turn it on, sometimes it will read, "666" and it won't get off of the screen until after i've squeezed the trigger a few more times... Definitely very weird! The only logical explanation I can think of would be that perhaps someone in the factory had a twisted sense of humor and programmed it to throw up that code for some reason. Is that possible? The thermometer still works perfectly fine other than that and I don't want a replacement or anything. I'm just trying to find a logical explanation for why it would be doing something so weird. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
