I was wondering, if the hot spot was at 88~90 ish and the snake was laying on it, temp went up to like 94~95 at the bottom of the tub. he was laying on the substrate which has lower temp though. This makes sense that the place snake was laying on could get hotter but is this fine?

Take the temp at the glass not on top of the substrate. The glass should read 90. They will burrow so make sure that the glass measures 90. You do. It want a burned snake.
