Nice update on the python, I've officially seen her in the cool hide, and saw her out and about when I walked into the room late last night.

Still waiting on supplies(larger uth and hides), to move her into a 20 long. But for now at least it looks like I'll be trying to feed her either tonight(day 4) or tomorrow(day 5) as she seems fairly relaxed. Been debating on size, I think she'll take an adult mouse no problem.

What is the weight of the snake?

And also, do you have a proper quarantine set up?

Re: A bit of a rescue story

I wouldn't consider it proper, but it's as best as I can cobble together. Sable is on a different floor and has as many of its own supplies as can be managed and those that can't are properly sterilized(I work in the medical field) between uses.

I didn't weigh it before placement into it's tank and outside of fighting temperature/humidity regulation, i/we have left the snake alone to let it destress so that it will hopefully have a successful first feed. We got her on it's "feeding day" so it's already been a week and a half without food(not a big deal I know) just seeing her put and about and somewhat inquisitive has me somewhat hopeful for a successful feed.

Ok cool, glad to hear you're taking precautions. I would just hate to see the rest of your reptile family get sick.

I think you will be fine offering a small adult mouse. Hopefully your new BP eats for ya, that's always a good feeling.

Fingers crossed for you, good luck!!!

P.S. my girlfriend is a nurse, so I definitely respect and appreciate what you do! Goon on ya, I certainly couldn't do what you guys do.

    Successful feed ftw!

Kids made her hide immediately after the strike but once everyone left the room she ate it

That's a good start at least
