I've heard there can be some bad things in tap water, like chlorine that turns the tips of your houseplants' leaves brown. Distilled water can be too pure, though, as it is free from any nutrients. Instead, I fill a gallon jug with tap water and let it sit open for 24 hours so any chlorine, etc can evaporate off. I use this water for my houseplants and my bp. Snakes do have a slightly different system from us humans, afterall, so what's safe for a human might not necessarily be fine for a reptile. Now, I'm not sure if this is really necessary, but it's what I do.
