Cross contamination, shared living spaces, poor working conditions, bad luck? Not really possible in rodents to snakes (rat parasites don't infest snakes, they only temporarily carry them like buses). If a collection had a contaminated snake or two and cleaning wasn't done well you could cross contaminate the racks and boom, worms!
Being checked out does not mean worms just that it might be a problem eater. Personally I would have issue with buying a snake that needed vet care unless I was rescuing it but that is just me.
