You mean the same person that posted here and a few other forums back in 2016 that badmouthed and claimed they had 2 back to back failures with RBI RHPs thus causing a panic about RBI products even though there has been no documented issues with their products?
Both these products are well made and will operate for a long period of time if installed and regulated correctly. Both will fail horribly if installed against recommended guidelines and run without a basic understanding of what you are doing. Same thing with heat tape. If you install it where tubs rub against it it will fail. Not the tape's fault, your fault for not knowing what you are doing.
I have no concerns what so ever with my RBI purchase and while it may fail like any other product, I have no fear of it doing so. RBI has be amazing to deal with and answered all my questions. I have no offgassing, no warping, no excessive heat, no shut off from failure, and have not had my house burn down because I know how to properly install and manage heat sources.
It's perfectly fine to not want to use something but it's not fine to spread misinformation about a current product. Go with pro products if the sales spiel hooks you but don't just buy it because third hand information scares you into doing so.
