I think he's a bit skinny

So I have been admiring other people's bp babies (shoutout to Maze and Tappy ) and I noticed that Fírnen is a bit thin compared to them. This comes at no surprise considering he weighs 65 grams when empty.

What do you guys think? He's about twelve weeks old and I just recently upgraded his meals to small mice after the fuzzies he was temporarily on (Yes, too small I know. He wasn't eating anything and I had to get him to eat something).

He is gaining weight slowly but surely, he was 54 grams when he came to me.

yea he's skinny (triangular body shape), but they all grow at their own rate. as long as he keeps eating and gaining weight, he's doing well.

He does look a bit on the thin side, but with time and proper care he'll thicken up soon enough. (And thanks for the shout-out ). Maze was 59 grams when I first got her, and she's now rocking a solid 137 grams. They start so small!

Yea he's always been small. My goal is for him to be chubby and happy eventually

Always good when you get an underweight ball in to start small and build up. I am sure you will get yours to a great weight and a good size prey in no time.

I agree with the others that he does look thin, but since you've upgraded to small mice he's going to start growing more for sure! (thank you for the shout out too!) <3 I got Tappy at 126 grams and he was just shy of 9 months old. 3 meals later on and he's already up to 159 grams! As long as Fírnen is gaining weight I think he's fine

Definitely on the thin size considering the age and weight (it basically hatching weight), nothing a little heavy feeding will not solve, weanling mouse every 5 days should do the trick, if not in other words if the animal eats adequately but does not put on weight have a fecal done.

Thanks Deborah. Are 7-11 gram mice considered weanling? That is the weight-range of the mice that I'm feeding him at the moment, starting from the smallest ones.

That's hopper size, weaning are about 13 to 18 grams on average.

I know a lot of people like to go by weight but at that size you can't go wrong with feeding something equal the girth size, just need to learn to eyeball it, after a while it's second nature
