Red pupils on my blue eyed lucy

Hello all, purchased my first ever white snake at the weekend, 100% sure he's a lesser mojave pastel, but his dad has spider in him. He has the stripe down his back under the black light but I can't see a definite spider pattern. But his eyes aren't your regular blue. They're a dark blue With a faint red pupil. Looks so cool but I'm wondering has anyone ever seen this before? Is it the spider gene affecting the eyes? I've not seen a wobble either.

This is my female super lesser possible GHI, pastel, and/or spider. Her pupils are absolutely red. I have been doing some research, and I have seen a hand full of BELs with red pupils. So, its not unheard of. It is interesting that both of ours have the possibility of spider, and I have considered it may be influencing the eyes. However, I see no signs of spider in my BEL, and I have seen others with red pupils with no mentioning of them possibly having spider in them. Buuuuuuuuut ya never know. Spider is such a popular morph that it might just be in some snakes and people are unaware. Either way, I really like the dark blue eyes with red pupils!

I think he's got more genes in him than his mother. She has the perfect light blue eyes like you normally see so I do think he's got some other thing going on. My plan is to pair him up with my pastel lesser in the next couple of years and see what he produces. Thanks for your message. Much appreciated

honestly i think it's lighting (and dilation) that creates the red eye effect. i've seen pix of the same BEL's that have the red pupil in some pix and the same BEL w/ black pupils in other pix. RedSheperd's (on the forum here) own BEL comes to mind.

Honestly, that was my initial thought. However, my BELs eyes are always red. Low light, artificial light, natural light.

Perhaps its the lesser? That's one thing both of yours have in common and if you go and look on the White Python thread on the same Morph section from today (I can't link sense I'm on my phone sry) all the pics on there have red pupils as well, both have lesser one being a super lesser and the other being a lesser pied
