    Get a thermostat with a thermometer probe. Plug in the thermostat, place the thermo-probe somewhere to monitor the temperature. Set the thermostat to desired temperature, and plug your heat-light into the thermostat.

    I suppose so, without the thermostat, you will need to place the light on the hot side and leave a cool side somehow.
