    I use reptichip. For me it's usually very high after changing out the substrate and it takes several days for the humidity to come down. Not sure why yours would be so high with newspaper substrate. Your only water source should be the water. Make sure the water is not over any of your heat sources to reduce the amount of evaporation you're getting.
    A day or two to get the settings in place? Is that ok w/ the BP in the cage? I guess as long as I'm not maxing out the temps he should be ok while I experiment.

    I was using reptichip but I had moisture accumulating on the glass and walls and humidity was spiked at 99%. The water dish is situated in the middle of the enclosure and I don't think it's over either of the 11x11 UTHs I have on each side.
