    Yeah, I considered not getting it but figured it was cheap enough that I'd be annoyed if I wanted it later and didn't have it. It's kind of nice as a gesture - (look people! The *scary* thing is locked up!) Glad you found it on amazon! I tried looking on amazon briefly but figured that just finding an appropriate name for the kind of lock would probably be enough for you to find it. Definitely glad he has his favorite spot so he was easy to find!!

    You can temporarily use a wood shim to keep the door closed for now.

    I have AP cages and purchased the locks for all of them because of stories of boas figuring out how to open their cages. I'm sorry your guy got out, but at least you've found a lock to buy so you won't have to worry about it happening again.

    he's gotten out twice (well three times now) and he's always just chilled under the T8 thankfully. my next T8 is definitely coming with all the bells and whistles after this.

    i tried to use a binder clip to clamp over the track and the bottom but the one i had was too small. i'll fit a shim in there until my lock gets here (yay amazon 2-day shipping!).
