how much drop are we talking? my room fluctuates by ~5-7° over a 24hr period and the CHE + rheostat works very well for me, but i took the time "to get to know" the dial before i started relying on it and i have to adjust it in the morning and evening.

lowest i have seen it get was 71 and that was from 79 the night before so about 8˚ in roughly 8-9 hrs

if you can adjust the dial once or twice a day i'd say it would be fine.

All i would need to do is dial it in to hold the temps and let the timer do the rest. The sun usually is enough to keep the temps up during the day
