I used the words scent marking when they have no scent glands, yes, that might not make sense. But it's just the term. "marking their territory" would have been the same meaning without the word scent.

They are not marking territory either. What mark are they leaving behind? Where do you get this info???

Ummm no... just please stop. You havent a source to sight that we can read, so not buying it. You are spreading inaccurate info... for the love of --- just stop.

They do NO "marking of territory". None whatsoever. As I said .. got links to where you learned this inaccurate info? I would love to see them.

I know it's none of my business but is it possible to share your point without completely trying to make someone look like an idiot? You gave your facts someone else backed it up end of story also it's a forum which means there's gonna be a bunch of different opinions and "inaccurate info" I haven't seen a thread on here where there's no contradictory info... just saying yes I know I'm late to reply but I didn't see this til now and it really bugged me!

It's frustrating when someone continues to post completely false info and try to pass them off as facts. That can be really confusing for new people who are trying to learn. It's perfectly okay to not know the answer to a question, but if you don't know then don't post. Opinions are totally fine as long as you make sure to word it as an opinion and not as a fact.

We just want to make sure that everyone is getting correct information on their snakes The goal on this forum is to educate people and prevent incorrect info from spreading.

Fair enough but there's still a way to do it without being rude also the general consensus in this thread is that scent marking isn't really a thing when it comes to snakes so obviously that would be the logical answer to the question. And thank you for not being rude to me for my opinion!

In the context it was used, nope, no such thing as "scent" marking or any marking with their head.

If they rub their head, then it is because something is bothering them. A piece of shed stuck in the nostril or elsewhere, something stuck in the mouth, etc etc.

That said...females can and do "scent mark". Only they use the other end, and it is in order to entice males

    Question about strange behavior

As I said before ... Some rub their head on rocks / branches or whatever to get the shedding process started .. Loosen the skin so to speak ..
