I looked into this last night and nothing I read said anything about scent marking.

...because snakes don't do it.

No scent glands makes scent marking impossible, just like no hands makes giving high fives impossible.

Jeanne is absolutely right. Science proves that BPs CAN NOT and DO NOT do any sort of scent marking.

Also, 97 is too hot for an ambient temp.

Yeah he was laying on the probe which is why it was reading higher. I had to adjust it.

He's claiming his territory. Its called scent marking. Some don't do it, but some do. It can mean he's really settling in to make it his.

You claimed it was scent marking in your first reply. Now you're saying who cares if they leave a scent. If you're not sure of something, why state it as if it's fact?

That is because they DO NOT scent mark. They do not have the anatomy. It isnt scent marking if they just dont have the anatomy... they dont just simulate it either.... they hav no drive or reason to do so.

Sorry.. snakes scent marking idea makes me laugh at anyone who would say it or believe it due to FACT snakes dont have the anatomy.

I ask Other Poster..so, show me where in the world you got this crazy scent marking idea and where you have read it, show me proof. Cause sorry... just dont buy that story.

For a second there I thought my snake gave me a high five. Then i realized I dont have a snake, and the high five just came from my other hand. I was disappointed. Maybe someday soon a snake of my own will be there to not give me a high five!

I know the anatomy of a snake. I even ALREADY said they don't have scent that they actually give off.
I used the words scent marking when they have no scent glands, yes, that might not make sense. But it's just the term. "marking their territory" would have been the same meaning without the word scent.
