I adopted this guy three weeks ago. He was a bit dehydrated when I got him, his belly was sunken in too so it had been awhile since he had eaten..I went ahead and fed him the day after I got him because it was feeding day and he was acting very hungry. He has eaten 4 small rats since I got him.
Does he look okay, should I bump him to medium rats? Being a male I didnt think it would be necessary but he is still acting pretty hungry. Hopefully the pics will work since Im still trying to figure out imgur after switching from photobucket.

None of my males get anything bigger than a small, even my big males. Your boy looks ok to me.

good looking!!! medium rats are not necessary for adult males; smalls on a consistent basis are perfect. that's what my male is on and he's almost 1000g.

Some BPs will simply pig out if given the chance, most likely since they're animals that are used to periods of fasting in the wild. Feeding response can continue for a bit after the feeding.

He looks great, good job! A way to tell if he should be moved up to medium rats is if the rat is a bit bigger then the widest part of his body. But if he is thriving right now I think he will be alright. Keep up the good work!
