Feeding technique ok to do?

Mine won't feed this way, only the snoot tap. Seemingly once its left in there and not directly offered to him he hardly registers it as a thing. Best I can figure, some snakes are maybe a little "nasally blind" when it comes to their heat pits and need the prompt. YMMV.

Coincidentally my BP's name is Pit. He does tend to recognize there is food though so he's not completely inept.

Update: He finally took one of the medium size rats I ordered like 25 of, which is great cause he is still a bit small but ready for this size food, very exciting development!
