Feeding question
My BP is very small and slender, in an attempt to begin to bulk him up a but because I feared he was too thin and was unhealthy, I fed him two small mice about three days apart instead of the usual 7. He took both and was totally fine. However, when I tried to feed him a few days ago he had a bit of a sausage butt and hadn't pooped yet. He also didnt take the mouse. He lunged halfheartedly once, missed, and lost interest. My question is do I try to offer another mouse if he still hasn't pooped yet or do I wait until he does?

Re: Feeding question
I wouldnt encourage non eating behavior. They are programmed to hold the poop fir quite some time to atract more prey. So try next week. Also try switching to rats or you will have a hassle on your hands.

Re: Feeding question
you probably got a refusal because the snake was still full from the two feedings. maybe try every 5 days.
i've found young beeps tend to hold on to their waste longer than an older beep.
it shouldn't be an issue to feed a snake that hasn't had a bowel movement.

He's still a bit small for rats, why do you encourage switching?

Re: Feeding question
We have a mouser. 17 snakes and 1 that won't eat a rat no matter what. He eats 5 mice a feeding and he still isn't full grown! I wish he would just take a damn rat. 1 rat is a lot more convenient and cheaper than 5 mice!

😂😂😯 I'm sorry about that, I guess the odds you would get a mouser go up a bit once u have nearly 20 snakes 😰😰😰

Omg, did you purchase from a pet store or a breeder? I find pet stores tend to ~streach the truth~ about their animals (I'm not saying you dont know not to purchase from a pet store (my own snake is from a pet store bc my mom didnt know any better to go to a breeder) but I was thinking maybe cuz its your first noodle) anywaysss good on you for sticking with snakes even after that frustrating first try 😂👍

Too small for rats doesn't exist unless it's an underweight hatchling that barely survived. He eats 2 small mice and he is too small for rats??? Give me his weight and I will tell you which size rat to use.
And about switching - good luck feeding him six seven mice at once later on
