Ball python shed

Soooo my baby boys eyes are going blue!! This is so exciting! This will be his first shed with me. Does anyone have any tips on making my bp shed go smooth? Since I have him in a tank with a screen lid I use a repti-fogger for humidity and I am prepared to keep that thing running for a straight week (or however long it takes). Also should I be trying to feed him per usual while he is in shed?

Sweet! Just make sure your humidity is good to go. Sometimes they will eat when in blue. Sometimes not. I always offer because mine will eat. Depends on the snake.

Sheds are exciting! Like Cletus said, just make sure the humidity is around 60-70, maybe put some moss in the hides where he'll most likely be hiding until the big day lol! Hoping for a good shed!

Exciting times....like the others said, go ahead and try feeding...bump your humidity to 60-80% or so and you should be good to go.

Also, if you haven't already covered your screen top I would recommend doing that as well. Cut a piece of cardboard to fit and wrap it in aluminum foil. This will help drastically with humidity.

Also, keep handling to a bare minimum during shed.

As far as feeding, some people offer, some don't. I personally offer and my snakes have yet to refuse.

But to the OP congrats lol sheds are always exciting. Like everyone else said bump your humidity up. I keep mine around 70%.

Once your snake goes blue, the skin gets really dull, then a couple days later snake looks completely normal and then a couple days after you'll have nice poop waiting for you oh yea, and the old skin haha

I put a damp paper towel in his hide-I saw some people on YouTube doing that. Idk if it does any good really haha

I cover the lid with thick blankets. I have a heat lamp as well so it is kinda hard to cover the entire screen

You can cut the cardboard to fit, including a hole for the heat lamp. The foil is important because it will not absorb the humidity. The blankets are great for keeping in heat, but actually are counterproductive for humidity. The blankets will soak up the moisture lowering the humidity in the enclosure. Blankets are also a fire hazard that close to a heat lamp.

That works, for a day or two, then dries out. You're better off with sphagnum moss. I will add a second water dish sometimes during a shed, and also fill a Tupperware or margarine tub or whatever with wet paper towels to spike humidity during a shed.
