Sounds like a great idea if you want a scaleless snake, that will do the trick, oil based substance loosen scales which start falling off there after. This is why even oil based ointments are not recommended long term.Some guy at work told me to put motor oil on my snake?
Sadly there are many people out there that have owned snakes for years yet still have no clue simply because they do not care to learn anything about the animal they own (this guy is the proof of that).
