    She Ate

I've left me snake alone for about 10 days now. Only going in her cage to spray or refill water.
Last night she actually came out of hiding and was resting on top of her rock hide so I thawed a small mouse meant for my cornsnake for her. I didn't want to waste another large mouse. I set it out on the rock in front of her, she tongued the air a bit and I left her be.
I figured I'd wake to a bloated dead mouse this morning, like so many morning before now but... that mouse is either a white walker and is in motion to murder the cats, or.... she ate it!

I can't believe it! This has been so many weeks of stress and concern for her. I never thought I would be this happy about a snake eating a mouse. 🐍❤

Thank you all for your continued support.

That's great news .... incidentally , you may have done this but when offering , evening is best by far , which you did . Then in dim/low lighting and warm the thawed mouse /rat with a hairdryer plugged in close by and offer IMMEDIATELY whilst it's still warm ...very rarely fails in my experience , may take a few attempts/ warm ups of course .

Awesome!! I'm very happy for you guys. Having a not eating animal is pretty stressful. I hope I can post the same happy message soon too...

Are you intending on feeding thawed !??

If so the secret is really to ensure that the rodent is WARM when offered ( ideally low light or dim lighting ) I plug a hairdryer in very close by warm for about 15 seconds then offer using tongs IMMEDIATELY .... if it doesn't take it just keep repeating the procedure . Also a couple of mine will only strike from within their hides so I wiggle the food in front of the entrance.
This method is proven but if there isn't even a tongue-lick then it's best leaving for a week then try again .

Good luck and keep us posted somehow !

Yeah I already tried that he still didn't like it. We will start trying with live prey this week though because he doesn't eat. I have a thread here in the forum with updates if you want to follow our progress

Did you notice any tongue flicks ?

That seems to be a key .. if they show any kind of interest that method usually works - it can take five or six attempts for the odd one though .

If there is no tongue flicking there's really no point in trying and I leave for a week ...
