Got my first rack set up!

Got my rack in last week, finally got the motivation to put it together on Monday. It wasn't difficult to get together at all, just took a bit of time since I only had a regular screwdriver and had to hand screw everything together. Got the heat tape in the grooves just fine, and I have all 3 of my BP's in it now. Haven't got my 4th one in yet, but she'll be quarantined in another room (of course) in Calypso's old tub. Emrys is just a bit big for these tubs, but when I get my 3 tub adult rack in a month or two I'll be putting him and Circe in it. By then I'll have a 3rd thermostat, which is the only reason I put Emrys in this rack for the moment.

My "reptile room" is in my walk-in closet, because I didn't want them in the living room where my apartment maintenance people spray for bugs monthly (they don't go into the bedrooms) and I didn't want it just in my bedroom, because it stays around 72 degrees year round (often colder in the summer) and I didn't want their ambient temp to be too low.

These are 32 quart, but you can also fit two 15 quart tubs on each shelf as well. So you can hold as few as 6 or as many as 12 snakes on it, depending on what tubs you put in.

This is also the first time I've used aspen in my tubs, they were all on paper towel before but I thought I'd give the aspen a try. I like it so far, Emrys dumped his water bowl (as he always does) and I only had to clean up a couple handfuls of wet aspen rather than completely remove everything and wipe it down.

Re: Got my first rack set up!

I remember getting my first rack about 3 years ago I was soo stoked and happy because I can get rid of abunch of tanks and cleared up so much space and all my picky eaters stopped and ate all the time so they seemed a bit happier if anything
