Somebody up-thread said they're made from 1" material, which is incorrect, its 1/2", IIRC.

My husband and I are engineers, and he's good with tools, but the time saved in design and fabrication is worth it to me. The parts are machined to really better tolerance than we could achieve at home. And there's economies of scale in purchasing materials on AP's end - I researched, and getting similar PVC, etc. wouldn't save me much.

I hope they are strong because i was thinking of drilling holes for the thermometer probe so that i can run the wires outside
