My solution to this type of problem is always just buy more snakes. LOL. The sad thing in my case is that this is actually factual.

More snakes is always an option!! If only my girlfriend agreed...
It's too bad you don't have an expo near you, but I'm sure you'll figure out what works best for you. And honestly, I buy 50 lg mice at a time and it really doesn't take up that much freezer space.

I'm trying to figure out what area the OP is actually in. There is an expo that frequently rotates between West Palm and Broward bi-monthly. Also a lot of suppliers. I used to get everything local until I hit the magic number that said it was time to buy a freezer.

Re: Frozen feeders
$20 is actually pretty cheap, you have to understand that those must be shipped via FedEx or UPS and in a timely fashion, also keep in mind that those company ship based on the dimension of the box.
The box must be large enough not only to contain you feeders but also to contain the dry ice necessary to keep them cold.
I hear people complain about shipping all the time being high even with snakes what a lot of people don't realize is that shipping is just something expensive to do.
If you purchase rodents and want it to be worth it you need to purchase bulk (100 rodents at the time min.)
If you only need a few buy from your local store or from a local show.

If you have not got your snakes eating f/t yet, I wouldn't go buying a bunch of them yet. Best way imo is to continue to buy the live that your feeding now, 2 per snake at a time. Each time you feed, try a fresh kill first, if they refuse then you can freeze it and start to get your frozen stock started. Then just feed the extra live so you don't skip meals. Continue to do this and even if your are having a hard time getting them to take the fresh kill, your not wasteing rodents. Once one of your snakes takes the dead, then you'll only need to buy two feeders at a time, offer fresh kill to the one that hasn't taken it yet first. If it refuses just give it to the one converted. Eventually you'll build up frozen without having to order in bulk and waste a bunch of defrosted rodents in the process of converting them and you won't need to skip meals. Just be consistent with offering dead first and they will eventually get it. If your really having a hard time getting them to switch, you can eventually stop getting the extra live and only offer a fresh kill, if they don't take it freeze it and then wait a week to try again. I don't like to starve them in the process so I try that last but most convert without needing to. All mine were live eaters when I purchased them and I've converted all of them within a month. Once they are eating fresh kill, it should not be hard to take the next step to f/t. At that point you can order in bulk. Good luck!
