Re: HELP PLEASE snake drooling and making sounds !
Hi, Blue!
I don't see any other replies, but sometimes my computer lags, so if this has already been said, please ignore
This can be very scary being a newbie snake owner and encountering your first medical "disaster". The good news is, you had a vet on stand by and your snake will be seen by a professional. It is pertinent that your snake does get seen, even if it seems like the sickness clears up on its own.
I would go ahead and quarantine your snake from any other snakes or reptiles you may have (if you have any others) to prevent the sickness from spreading (if it is a sickness.)
Now, with that said, a snake that is drooling "bubbles" or what seems to be mucus most likely has a respiratory infection. This can be treated with a diluted medicine that your herp vet will supply you with and is very simple to use. The R.I (respiratory infection) will clear up in 1-2 weeks normally when treated.
If it seems like your snake is pushing its tongue against the roof of its mouth and this is causing it to drool, there may be a piece of substrate stuck in his/her mouth/neck. I used to use Cypress substrate and my largest male, a 1.0 super pastel vanilla somehow got a piece lodged in his mouth, closer to his neck. My fiance and I removed the substrate (very carefully and meticulously as possible to avoid further injury) from his throat using long ended tweezers (they're about 10in long). In your case, being a beginner, the vet is the best choice and will be able to easily remove it from his/her throat.
Those are the two things that come to mind immediately, but it could be anything.
I really hope that your snake gets better!! & Good luck.

Ive had my burm throw up water.. He sprayed it once all over the glass... Not sure why and it only happened that one time...he did some odd movements too, their muscles i assume. Clicking (bubble wrap) sounds like Repository situation... But without any other symptons i dont know....
make sure your uth (if you use one) is not over 91... Ive heard of strange neurological situations from a uth being over 100 degrees under a hide.
If you feel somthings wrong make a vet call tomorrow.

That happened to me. I was freaking out, thinking RI, but someone said it might have been water, so ive been checking my snake's mouth and throat from time to time and she looks clear as a whistle. And i dont hear anything nor did she "drool" the clear liquid again

Re: HELP PLEASE snake drooling and making sounds !
It could have just been water. Sometimes if you catch them right after they drank a bunch of water, it can spill out of their mouth.
I still think the vet is a good idea because the sounds don't sound normal.

when i first got Yellow i was a fresh noob to snakes: i had just replaced his water with nice COLD water, because who doesn't like cold water? he went to drink it, his body freaked out and he spit it all back up. i was SO scared! i took him to the vet because he also had ripped a scale off somehow a few days before and my vet said "yeah don't ever use cold water."
just my anecdote on something similar, but maybe it could help you or others. however "popping bubble wrap" is not something i would take lightly; definitely try to see if you can get to a specialized vet.

Always worth a check up with the vet if you have any suspicion of an RI, the quicker to catch it, the better the turnout. I hope all is well and all goes well.
