Indeed, fingers crossed we have the same success next week and following... Getting him settled into a good routine would be great

I'm sure you'll be fine. You'll get into a rhythm.

Re: The time has come ...
Just a thought
Next time consider putting some card /paper down in front of the hide just to minimise the ingestion of bark ...
Some don't bother but can't do any harm .
Anyway CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!

No worries !!
I always do but even then I've still seen odd bits of bark go down with the rat
Over the years , I've actually got rather adept at plucking bits out of their mouths with tweezers , at the last moment
Many don't bother , pointing out that snakes eat off the ground all the time - who knows .
I always imagine them on dirty / dusty / earthy surfaces rather than loads of reptile bark ....

Re: The time has come ...
Lol yeah I watched him eat it and was praying he didn't take anything down with it, it's another of them subjects I guess with no real definitive answer some say they can digest substrate in small amounts some say they cant, either way I won't be risking it next time, wonder if clyde slept well last night after a shed and a big meal haha
