    Snake Housing Help?

I'm looking into getting two ball pythons to try out breeding (I have already done all my research but I would love some tips and advice!) but the one thing that I can not seem to decide on is their tanks and tank sizes. My current snake is in a glass aquarium (which, I know isn't the most efficient for retaining heat and humidity, but it works well for my setup.) but when I see people with breeding ball pythons, their tanks are always plastic and usually extremely short. I was suggested these:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YFPW3B0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A31WC3UU6P8H6Z

But that seems rather small for a ball python, especially a full grown female!

Would I be better off using non stackable clear storage bins, or a faunarium? Please help!

Whoever suggested you those storage drawers is a fool LOL. And it's not just because it's small, but because the snakes will escape out the top edges right away!

If you're only ever going to keep 2 ball pythons and you have room, I'd get 110 qt sterilite tubs, one tub for each. This is for sub-adult~adult ball pythons.

If you're starting out with a small hatchling and you've never had a ball python before, I'd get a 15~32qt sterilite and stuff it with fake vines and leaves and secure hides.

For all tub setups though, you need extra security on the lid (clips, straps, etc) or they'll push out the edges and escape. I just placed heavy books on top, but it doesn't look too pretty.

Those will not work. They will escape.

I use glass enclosures for all of my indoor reptiles and amphibians. For my BP I use plexi glass on the screen top to maintain humidity. He's six months old and currently in a ten gal but he will eventually end up in a 20, then a 40 or 55 gal.

For the snakes sake start over on your research and whoever told you about those do not go to for any info. The enclosure should be the easiest decision once you have a basic understandings & studied up on all the Husbandry for Ball pythons. Talking about breeding and asking about a container I wouldnt keep a mouse in is a red flag.
    Read all the Stickys.

True that actually! Ball pythons definitely aren't a "wing it" kind of species, even if some other snake species are more tolerant of that. Lots of stickies to read through in the husbandry section here.

    Re: Snake Housing Help?

So you want to breed... but what are you going to do with the babies when they're born? Are you prepared to house 10 or more ball pythons for the rest of their lives in the (quite likely) event that you can't sell them?

Look in to purchasing or building a rack system. You can make one work for hatchlings all the way up to adults if you design it right.

Breeding is a very very big commitment. When did you plan to start breeding? What research have you done so far? It is hard to offer advice if we don't know what you've learned. Have you looked at incubators? Breeding your own rats/mice/asfs?

These threads kill me. "Try out breeding". Really? Please try to keep animals healthy for a year, get an understanding of genetics and the ball python market then think about breeding.
