Haha we'll have to see what name he looks like when he gets here, though Gerald sounded great as soon as my girlfriend said it. Currently leaning toward Gerald.
Current snakes are Geoffrey male pastel ball python, Phyllis female kalatoa SD retic, and (insert name here, possibly Gerald) male 50% SD ultra ivory het anery retic.
Hatch date on the newcomer is 3/15/16, about 30" at the moment and eating rat pups every 7-10 days. Dad is 6' mom 11', I expect between 6-9' adult length and Bob said he thinks that sounds about right.

You need to name him "I got him before John" since if I saw that for cheap, I would have hopped on it lol.

And yeah, good luck with that feeding. Since you snagged it before I saw it, I curse you with "The Caesar syndrome"!! That snake is going to have a bottomless pit of a stomach and grow like a weed and eat you out of house and home haha.

And I expect pics when he gets there. None of this 'he needs time to settle in'!!

Lol we'll see about that buddy! He's about 3 weeks from his first birthday and is apparently only around 30". Definitely going to be using Gio's maintenance feeding approach and see how it goes. And I've already got one snake with the "Caesar syndrome" but hers is termed the "Phyllis freak show"! She attacked and constricted a roll of paper towels earlier when I was cleaning the third piss from her in less than a full day. She ate a medium and a small rat on Saturday and is always looking for more!

Haha! That's awesome. Caesar has never tried to eat a paper towel roll. I saw a pic of a guys' retic who shot out of the cage like a bullet when he opened the door to clean its cage and it coiled a plastic garbage bag full of old snake substrate from the other cages haha.

And we'll see how that feeding goes mwhahaha /wiggles fingers at the new snake!!

Quarantine enclosure set up and getting temps dialed! My old neodesha Plastics enclosure that I've had for about 16 years. When Phyllis gets a new cage the new guy will get Phyllis's T8. About 17 hours until I get to meet the newcomer! So far I think his name is going to be Gerald.

    Classic!

New breakthrough in herpetology: Certain species of python thrive on a diet of Bounty paper towels.

I am still feeding Wallace small rats. Usually every 7 days, but he can and will (like now) go longer than 10. He isn't interested in eating during shed. He actually "side nudged" or side blasted the rat away from him. He gets a bit pissy and I possibly attribute that to a touch more SD in him than Caesar, but more than likely its individual behavior.

He's probably still close in size to Caesar, but I've been feeding small rats from day one, and Sauz was using smaller prey at the beginning. My guess is Caesar out weighs Wallace and is probably longer. He is just about a month older. Wallace is a June 1st 2016 hatchie.

I can't wait for your new arrival JM. Its always cool when another member you chat with score something you like as well.

Keep us posted with a separate progression thread.

Haha, Caesar blasts my hand away with his body when he wants to be left alone. I don't cave and keep bugging him which then makes him actually have to move to try and get to the other hide lol.

And I remember the days when a small rat would keep Caesar happy. Those days seem so long ago. I fed him a small rat a few weeks ago from one Dottie didn't want and my god, after eating it, it just fired him up and he lunged at the glass door with mouth open and rubbed all over it like those fachuggers from Alien. Was hilarious and scary at the same time lol. I'll have to actually get a weight on Caesar when I find something to shove him in. There is no way on gods green earth he is going to sit still on a scale.

And yeah, I think Phyllis and Caesar are just pigs haha. They seem to eat anything, anywhere, anytime. Wallace and Riverrun are the more well mannered feeders haha.

And yeah I want to see pics of this new snake that you swooped in and poached from under me
