Breeding in Terrarium not tubs

I am looking to just do a small breeding project with just one male and one female. I have them in glass terrariums. Has anyone paired ball pythons in glass terrariums or is it not a good idea to do so?

This is exactly what im doing right now(although plexiglass not glass but same thing) Ive had no issues and have gotten a lock each time ive paired them. The one thing i do since i leave a light on in the snake room during the day is remove the hides and cover the front of the tank they are both in when paired so they feel a little more secure. Good luck.

I should note the other 3 sides of my tanks are also "covered" i built my own tank rack which is painted black so the only exposed side is the front which is what i cover when they are paired. If your tank is on a stand or something i would be sure to cover all four sides. Again just to give them a more secure feel.

I am a tub person myself for about a million reasons, but if you only have a couple animals it shouldn't make much of a difference for the actual breeding. It is afterward that you may have to take a couple more precautions. I would cover three sides of the tank. This will make the female more comfortable. I would pay very close attention to the humidity levels especially as the lay date approaches. Remember incubators are kept at or near 100% humidity for a reason. The eggs can get too dry really fast. I personally would be very vigilant and watching for those eggs if you are having any humidity problems at all.

Thank you for the advice. So raise the humidity while they are together and in her tank?

The eggs themselves once out of the snake are very susceptible to humidity changes. I do not know what your preferred method will be to incubate but I do not think I would allow a female to incubate her own eggs in a tank. It is just very hard to keep those things tuned. Someone on here may have tried it but I have not.

Yea i know i wont be using maternal incubation. Ive done a bit of research on egg boxes and incubating and will use one of those DIY methods.

I didn't plan on letting her incubate the eggs was going to use an incubator for perfect conditions. Thank you for the information.
