Laying inverted is a good sign however it need to be taken in consideration with other signs (males are also known to lay inverted at times)

Signs to take in consideration are

    Ovulation
    Pre-lay shed
Animal on the warm side of the tub

When a female is fulfilling all those conditions and is laying inverted she usually try to make herself comfortable by adjusting her eggs, now to know whether there are eggs or not and how many there is a simple trick that need to be done GENTLY.

Pick your female up hold her in front of you tail down head up (you should see her profile) now gently reverse the position tail up and head down, you will see the eggs moving and will be able to count them if they are present.
