what is the chance of getting mites after adding a new snake to your collection?

I can't seem to find a thread on this, so if there is a link could someone share it for proper quarantine procedures please. I've heard mixed suggestions...same room different area of the house, etc....I'm picking up a snake next week and want to do it properly. Thank you in advance.
