Don't be ashamed if you ditched it. I ditched my carpet because...well....I freakin got tired of getting bit or worrying about getting bit every time I opened the cage. If a certain snake is not your cup of tea, better to rehome to someone who will enjoy it rather than keeping it and having it end up getting neglected.
