In the last 6 weeks he has struck me twice, but didn't get a bite in. I don't know what happened while he was away, which was only 2 weeks. Before he left he spent 2 hours at a Halloween event being handled constantly for 2 hours without any indication of being upset.
How do I get him to settle back down? He's back on his regular feeding and bathing schedules. Just keep it up?
Thanks!
Go on YouTube and look up BHB snakes or something like that, he has a video on how to tame snakes that are aggressive. I'll post the URL when I get home. Basically get them from the enclosure, somehow lol... and hold them close to your chest in both hands enclosed. I guess it takes them.

Re: First snake bite.
I literally got tagged last night - due to where I was sitting with the vivarium glass open and the fact I was about to feed her she decided to strike and bashed me on my forehead, I looked up holding the rodent and she snatched it off me.
I basically got mugged for her dinner.

Yes, yes you certainly did lol! She has a future career all lined up for herself. Nice set of skills.
On a serious note, I'm glad she missed your eye.

I was bit the other day by my Arizona Mountain king snake. He is so small though, and I was asking for it. I held the pinky mouse between my fingers, he bit my finger instead of the mouse. Didn't hurt at all and freaked the snake out more than me LOL.
I've had some close calls but haven't been bit really bad yet. My retic sometimes jumps out of the tub, now I open slowly and always use a hook to let her know I'm picking her up. And I always feed with tongs unless it's an adult rat with a long tail LOL.

Thank god she missed my eye - would have probably ended up with a black eye at the very least.
