Whole oats as substrate?
Has anyone used whole oats as substrate and/or would it be worth a try?
I have a huge bag of whole oats laying around and wanted to see if it would be safe to use for my boy.

I wouldn't try, they will need to hold humidity.

I don't know if it would work or not... but I do know that oats are actual food, so maybe they should go to someone who will eat them? Even if it's a quadrupedal someone, since most humans I know might not know what to do with whole (e.g. not rolled or steel cut or whatever, oatmeal) oats.
