I'm looking deeper into these threads, but since you posted here, how about a few shots of your snake here. It is not an interruption to the thread, but rather an addition to it so feel free!

Here a pic of him that I took today. As Reptile experts and you have noted, they are different. He was twitchy yesterday to to point of biting at the tapper, and I am very tired today so I let sleeping snakes lie.

Gorgeous boy! I love a nice tiger, and he's a good one.
I think it might have been me that mentioned the hands-on thing, as I learned that the hard way with River. Once I have a more private lawn I'll have start working on allowing her to roam on her own. Although the neighbors tolerate the snakes now, they might not be so keen if a 7'+ snake were to get defensive on me....
Their eyes are definitely the neatest thing about them, whereas my boas only move their eyes with extreme disdain at the task and seem to almost be ignoring you, you can watch retics' eyes just zipping around everywhere, and River will not hesitate to watch me out of the corner of her eyes.

I don't know, my big boa definitely watch me but its a lot more subtle than my retic except the sunglow really watches me and turns her head all the time to check me out or probably just checking to see "the rat god" has dinner lol.

As it would turn out my boa was all over my every move yesterday. I ended up taking him out for a TV break in the evening for 30-40 minutes. He's gotten huge this last year and is still pretty active. i think he wants a mate.
Wallace is still a bit shy and is content staying in his cage. But I still socialize him just to keep him used to me.

Regarding letting Wisdom roam, this is because this individual would rather satisfy curiousity than hide. He generally doesn’t use hides in his cage either. The first time I let him have a roam was after months in quarantine and he wall pretty acclimated to me. I walked right beside him just in case but he would rather climb than get tangled up in the recliner. Now if he every reaches that ceiling fan, I’ll be sorry.
His eyes though.... after his first roam experience, he was sitting on his tub, in the quarantine room. He watched me for a moment and then, (you all wont believe me), his eyes sparkled like a light bulb went off in his snake brain and he voluntarily crawled up on my shoulders. He realized that was the way to get more fun and adventure. Ever since then he lets me pick him up without a fuss and when he is thinking, curious retic mode, even seems to like being patted. The other one, Maiden, is totally different she would disappear in a heart beat.
