    The new birds are Silver Dorkings. Arrived early summer, they haven't started laying yet. Flock of 14.

    The other flock is a mix of elderly banties, some barred rocks, one Easter egger mutt, and buffs. Also 14 individuals. They are all older, and really, ALL of them should go into the soup pot. Warning: if you get banties, they will hang around for many years, just because they are too cute and sweet to butcher.

    I really want to get into pigeons, but have decided that the chicken numbers need to be drastically reduced before making any more animal commitments.
