    Time to move up?

    Hello all!

I have a 0.1 Ghost who is about 652g and is eating weaned rats currently. I'm buying more rats tomorrow and am trying to figure out if she needs the next size up. Should we move to small rats, or is she good still with weaned?

    Thanks!

For me, if weaned is not leaving a visible bump anymore, then I move them up to small.

Are you moving up from 1 weaned rat per week to 1 small rat per week? If weaned are about 40g each and smalls are about 80g each would feeding 1 small once per week be better than 2 weaned once per week? or 1 weaned every 3-4 days? Just wondering. Thanks!

From what I know, it's always better to feed them their entire meal (whatever it may be) in one day, rather than feeding sparsely throughout the week.

She gets 1 weaned rat per week, and I'm probably moving her up to 1 small rat a week. I agree with reshepard, feeding multiple times a week doesn't entirely make sense and kinda throws any sort of schedule out the window.

redshepard Thanks so much for the reply! I'm pretty sure its stopped leaving much of a bump, so I'll probably move her up.

    Re: Time to move up?

Where I order my smalls from they range anywhere from 50-90g so if you get to choose go for the ones that are around 50-60. If you don't get to pick and choose then feed smallest to largest. Good thing about your snake being on smalls now is you should never have to buy a bigger prey size again unless you ends up being a really big girl but most just need a small around 60g for the rest of their lives.
