One that always gets me is that he pronounces L's like Y's, well tonight as we were going to bed he told me "I yove you, daddy" and I told him, for The millionth time it seems, "try licking the back of your teeth; L, L, love" and he just came out with it, "I LOVE you, daddy!" We spent the next half hour saying all the words we could think of that start with L; he was so incredibly proud of himself and I was nearly in tears.

Holy cow that's a good one. Times like that would make it worthwhile to have children. Personally, I'm just waiting for AP to make an enclosure large enough for one...

Today, I drove across town to the better pet shop for a feeder; only to find out they were out of them until next week. I figured, might as well try the little guy out on f/t, even though it will only be his 3rd meal with me.

It was nerve wracking! I bought a little cooler and ice pack at the dollar store down the street so it wouldn't heat up too fast in the trunk. Spent the next two hours measuring thawing water temps in this takeout Pho container I saved for this day. Read a half dozen threads about what would and wouldn't lead to explode-o-rats. Prodded the poor little furry thing wondering just how squishy it should be, and shot him with the temp gun enough times to probably give it a tumor. Warmed him up a bit in front of a tiny space heater from a previously failed project and finally got out my hemostats remembering the video instructions on how to do the rat dance.

I lower it into his tub and tap the entrance to his hide to wake him up. A second later he shoots out so fast I drop the food item and my little unnamed BP is raised up 3 inches off of the tub surface looking around like an angry cobra. I grab the fuzzy by the tail and before I can move it an inch he's wrapped up.

Maybe I over prepared a bit... It seems he has a pretty good prey drive.
